Bunny:  I didn't have any technical problems so I didn't ask any questions.  But, they had no problem letting me download the program since they already had proof of purchase.  Frankly, I think $275 is too much to pay.  I have learned more from Jim's videos than then I have from the Agent Office people during the past 8 years.

If you find a way to get my HTML signature on A/O let me know please.

Bunny,

please post your issue here in the forum to see if we can come up with a resolution – many issues people think are technical can be resolved with our help.  But, if we hit a dead end, yes, the $295 annual tech contract may be the only solution.

I am on the prowl for the next best thing in CRM and have even tried to join forces with people attempting to raise the money to build it.  I've analyzed a dozen hopefuls in the past two years, but haven't found a winner yet.  Hang in there with AgentOffice until I can find a better replacement.

Jim

thanks , Jim.

I worked out some of the problems by doing a 'system restore' to a date when things were working right.  But I still have the issue of not being able to get it into a new computer.  I've changed computers many times in the last 15 years or so that I've used this program by installing the software and then doing a 'restore' with my back-up files. This time it won't work.  Perhaps because I don't have the software for the last upgrade to v.10 which I think was just done on-line.

Al/Jim:

I've used Agent Office for many, many years but am now having major problems.  I tried to get tech support but was told it is now $295 per year. Wow! Al, did you have to pay that?  Do I have any other option?  Jim, is there some other contact management software that you would recommend.  Active Agent (an add-on to Outlook) has been recommended but they only have e-mail support which is difficult to work with when you're first getting started.  Any other ideas?

Jim:

Thanks for your help.  Since my utility program was not with my AgentOffice program(Version 10) i tried to reinstall AgentOffice (Version 9) with the thought that I would update to Version 10 when the program asked me if i wanted to search for updates.  I wasn't able to update Version 9 because install code would not work.

I contacted the new owners of AgentOffice and gave them my Serial # for Version 9.  They were very helpful.  My install code for version 9 was deleted when I upgraded to version 10.  They promply emailed the download link for version 10 with the proper install code.  So I and up and running with the utility progrm.  If anyone has the same proplem probably the best way to contact them is to email support@agentofficehq.com. My son who works at Microsoft was here over the Christmas week.   He checked and the agent office utility is not on my computer so I have 2 questions.

1) Can I download the utility from some other source?

2) I have all my AO contacts backed up twice.  Should I remove version 10 from my computer and install version 9 (I have the disc)?  I assume the utlity is on the disc.  When I have version 9 installed then I will upgrade to version 10 when the program asks if I want to search for new upgrades.  Do you think this plan will work:

Thanks

Jim;

Okay.  I have done everything you suggested and it matches with AgentOffice's user guide (the guide opens).

When I single click on AgentOffice it opens the program.   I don't have an option of opening the utility.  I see that all the ols folders on my C drive have an install date of November when I upgraded online to version 10.

Do you think I can get online and download the utility?

Thanks

I assure you, it's there.  Let's make sure you are doing all the steps:

1. Make sure AgentOffice is closed

2. Click the Windows Start Button

3. Click on All Programs

4. You should be able to scroll through a series of FOLDERS to find one that says AgentOffice

5. Single-click on the AgentOffice folder – it might take a second or two for it to open and expand

6. You should see a series of different icons under the open AgentOffice folder and the one you want has a red "Swiss Army Knife" looking icon next to the words AgentOffice Utilities.  A single click on that icon should open the Utilities module.

Let me know if you are still struggling with this.

Jim:  I have had my present version(9.1) of agent office on my computer for 3 or 4 years. It has been updated online to version 10.00.01.00. Unfortunately I can't find the utility program for agent office. When I click on start, all programs, agent office is on the left side of the screen with no other options other then to open agent office. When I check all the programs on my C drive I can find an utility program but it won't open and going to the internet doesn't help.

Any ideas? If I put my agent office disc(version 9.1) in the computer will I be able to access the utility program?

Thanks
