I have been using a World Edition Blackberry and have always had problems synching with AO. I know that the iphone does synch with agent office. However, I am in an area where we have problems with AT&T service. I have to go with Verizon and I have an option of the Droid or the Palm Pre. I would go with any phone that has the ability to synch easily with AO. Any suggestions?

Ron, I’m sure Jim will weigh in. I have a Blackberry Storm and it works really well for Outlook sync. I know Jim often recommends to sync AO with Outlook, so that would be an option. The Storm has Visual Voicemail, which is pretty cool. You might also check out http://www.realestatetechnologyexperts.com/forum/cell-phonespdas/ and put some discussion on there.

    Ron,
here’s a little rant that might help you with your dilemma…

My strategy for the present is to simply stop trying to sync my phone to AgentOffice. Frankly, I have regretted synchronizing my iPhone since the second I did it. After 15 years in the tech and real estate business I now have 4500 contacts in my iPhone which is probably 4250 more than I really need. Also, because I can’t link appointments to contacts in the phone the sync to AO is useless. I asked Allan Domb, the most time productive human being I know, and one of the most successful real estate agents or our time, how he uses his Blackberry with AO and his answer was quite profound. He uses his Blackberry to take and return e-mails quickly and his phone to make and return phone calls quickly. He does not put all of his contacts into his Blackberry – only the ones he is working with RIGHT NOW. He ads them manually and only puts in their primary phone number and e-mail. He puts their detailed information (backup phone numbers, property address, personal information, notes, etc.) into AO and uses AO to schedule the recurring calls, e-mails and follow up. He then, get this, PRINTS OUT HIS DAILY SCHEDULE ON PAPER from AO and carries it with him while he makes his 100 daily contact calls and follow up. The AO schedule includes all phone numbers, addresses etc. and it tells him why he is calling them and gives him a place to write handwritten notes WHILE HE IS TALKING TO HIS CUSTOMER and then he reconciles the notes with AO when he gets back to his office. If he has a ton of notes and calls to record, he hands his schedule to his assistant at the end of the day and she marks the calls done in AO and schedules the next contact activity according to Allan’s handwritten notes. ALLAN ONLY USES HIS BLACKBERRY TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS and doesn’t bother putting those into AO unless he has time.
